Mark Canale

Mark Canale was born and raised in Marquette. He is a 1975 graduate of Marquette Senior High School, attended Northern Michigan University and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1979 with a degree in Mortuary Science.

He has been serving on the U.P. Catholic Credit Union Board of Directors since 1995 and has been actively involved with numerous other community organizations including serving on the State of Michigan Board of Examiners in Mortuary Science, United Way of Marquette County Campaign Co-Chair, member and past board chair of the Marquette County Community Foundation, board member of U.P Children’s Bereavement Network, member and past president of the Marquette West Rotary Club, member of Marquette Council #689 Knights of Columbus and Bishop Baraga the Snowshoe Priest Assembly – Fourth Degree K of C.

In his free time, Mark takes an active interest in biking, walking and golfing. He is a member of St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette.

Jerry Pennock

Jerry G. Pennock was raised in L’Anse. He was a 1989 graduate of L’Anse High School, received a Bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University in 1995 and in 1997 graduated from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago.

Jerry joined the staff of Canale-Tonella in 1999 and serves as manager of the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home.

He and his wife, Jacqui, have made a home in Harvey and have a daughter, a son and a dog. 

He is a member of the Ishpeming Noon Kiwanis, the Negaunee Rod & Gun Club and attends St. Louis the King Catholic Church.

When not attending to his duties at the funeral home, Jerry enjoys spending time with his family, daily workouts, golfing, snowboarding and hunting.

Charli Lynn Peters

Charli Lynn Peters was raised in Munising. She graduated from Munising High School in 2008, received a Bachelor’s degree from Northern Michigan University in 2012 and in the Fall of 2013, she graduated Valedictorian from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago.

Charli joined the staff of Canale-Tonella in 2014 after receiving licensure for the State of Michigan.

She is an avid Relay for Life participant in Alger County and was an active member of the Marquette Center for Dance for 19 years and enjoys ballet and tap styles of dance. Her hobbies include working out, downhill skiing and spending time with family. Charli is looking forward to getting actively involved and serving the community of Marquette County.
